Dr. W. Graham Carlos and Dr. Phil Forys discuss the challenges of patient loss and resilience in medicine.

Dr. W. Graham Carlos is the Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care at Eskenazi Health and Chief of Internal Medicine at Eskenazi Health. Dr. Carlos graduated from Notre Dame and IUSM. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis where he served as Chief Resident. Following his residency, Dr. Carlos completed a 3 year fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at IUSM and concomitantly earned a masters degree in clinical research from IUPUI. In addition to his work at Eskenazi Health, Dr. Carlos has a passion for international healthcare having been on three medical mission trips to Nairobi.

Dr. Phil Forys is a fellow in the Internal Medicine-Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at IU School of Medicine. He grew up in Chicago, born to two Polish Parents and Polish was his first language. He went Indiana University from Undergrad through Fellowship at Indiana University. His professional interestes include Healthcare Advocacy, Bronchsocopy, and Medical Education. In his free time, he likes to garden, ski in winter, ride his bike around town, and check out new restaurants all over Indy.
