Resident physician Jared Shields and neuroradiologist Chang Ho discuss an unexpected finding during a research MRI.
Dr. Jared Shields is a co-chief resident of the diagnostic radiology residency at IU School of Medicine. He grew up on the west side of Indianapolis and was inspired by his mom, who continues to work as an ICU nurse at Riley Children’s Hospital, to pursue a career in healthcare. Dr. Shields has presented at the national conference for the Society of Imaging Informatics, lobbied at Congress for the American College of Radiology, and has a passion for medical student education. Upon completing his residency in 2020, he will join the Emergency Division of IU Radiology. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys the new and exciting adventure of parenthood with his superhero wife raising their two children under two years old.
Dr. Chang Ho is a neuroradiologist with Indiana University Health Systems. He grew up in the great state of Texas but has been a transplant Hoosier for nearly twenty years. He currently serves as the chief for neuroradiology at IU and the director of pediatric neuroimaging at Riley Children’s Hospital. His work interests include the research of pediatric brain tumors particularly with respect to their perfusion and genetics. He hopes to advance our knowledge in this field so that we can let patients have better outcomes for this number one solid cancer of children in both numbers and mortality. He also enjoys taking complex information and knowledge and trying to present it in an easier to digest format that allows him to be a better teacher of radiologists, trainee or otherwise. Personally, he and his wife are parents to two beautiful, young daughters.
